Hey there <3

My name is Mela (pronounced Mel-ahhh) and it all started with me drawing and painting little cat families for my dad that he would store in a file cabinet that he still has to this day. My dad and grandpa were me biggest inspos they both had the ability to draw anything and it looked like a printout! Everything art related carried on into my school years and then I graduated and I wanted to focus on "adulting." I wanted to work and save money and through that my art became makeup and hair. That was such a youthful and cute time in my life but I laid it to rest and went out on my own.  My life completely changed and I was sustaining myself and  working three jobs. I remember spending late nights and early mornings at the laundromat waiting for my laundry passing time by sketching just about anything. My lunches and breaks were spent either napping in a hot delivery van or drawing away. I definitely wasn't expecting such a big shift  as I was so set on completing a goal I was crazy about.

Big life changes i met my partner with amazing dreams, moved everywhere, had a baby and next thing you know I dove right into some leatherworking. I fell in love with the fact that you can make anything you want on something useful that will last you years. As for my paintings, I draw and paint whatever I felt inspired by and I also just come up with ideas on what I think would look so cute on a wall. All items are made just by me and with the intent that it will last you and look even better as it ages.
